Elf name generator: what’s yours?

Who’s in it?

Pay, and it’s ready in about 20 seconds
Four pictures to pick from, no watermark, a link that opens on any phone. We email it to you too.
Every elf at the North Pole has a name like Jingle Snowboots, and now you get one too. Type your first name and pick your birthday month: the first letter of your name picks your elf first name, your birthday month picks your elf last name, and the last letter of your name picks your job at Santa’s workshop. The same name and month always give the same elf, so the whole family can check each other’s. There’s no sign-up and nothing to download, and the charts are right below if you’d rather work it out by hand or print them for a class.
The elf name charts

Christmas cards made from your photos
For the whole family, a class or the office
Everyone types their own name and picks their month. Each new elf joins the crew under the result, so you can read the whole family’s names together, and Put the crew on my card puts all of them in one line.
- Family: do everyone at the table, then argue about whose job is best.
- A class: print the charts and let each kid work out their own name from their letter and month.
- The office party: put them on the name tags. The Workshop DJ picks the music.
- Secret Santa: sign the gift tag as your elf and see how long it takes them.
- A toy elf: use your kid’s name and birthday month, or the month the elf arrived.
From a name to an elf card
HiWith’s Santa’s helper card puts the person in your photo in the workshop as an elf, so the name finally gets a face. Add one clear photo of each person and pay $4.99: four pictures arrive about 20 seconds later and a short video after that. Put your new name in the message and send it as a link that opens on any phone. HiWith Pro is $7.99 a month for up to 10 cards.
The generator itself is free and stays free. You don’t need a card, an account or an email to use it.
How it works
- Pick a cardPilots, mermaids, rock stars, one very surprised cake. Every one shows a real example first.
- Add their photosOne clear face each, up to 5 people. A selfie is fine. No sign-up.
- See it free, then payOne picture of them in the card in about 10 seconds. Like it? Apple Pay or Google Pay, and four pictures arrive about 20 seconds later, the video in about 90.
What it costs
One card, or 10 a month. Full refund if you don’t love it.
How does the elf name generator work?
The first letter of your first name picks your elf first name, your birthday month picks your elf last name, and the last letter of your first name picks your job at Santa’s workshop. It reads the same charts every time, so the same name and month always give the same elf.
Is it free?
Yes. There’s no sign-up, no email and nothing to download. You only pay if you make an elf card with your photo, which is $4.99.
Do you keep the names I type?
No. The generator runs in your browser from the charts on this page and doesn’t send the names to us. If you tap Put it on my card, the line waits in your browser for the card you make next.
Can I print the charts?
Yes. Tap Print the charts and you get just the three charts, without the rest of the page. Kids can find their letter and their month and work out their own, no screen needed.
Can we use it to name our Elf on the Shelf?
Sure. Use your kid’s first name and birthday month, or the month the elf first showed up. It won’t tell you where the elf should hide tomorrow night, sorry.
