How to write a happy holidays message in three lines
"Happy holidays, Priya! Thanks for covering for me in March; I still owe you lunch. Here's to a calm, happy new year." That's the whole formula:
- The greeting, with their name: "Happy holidays" or "Season's greetings".
- One line only they would get: a thank-you, something from this year, a joke you share.
- A wish for what comes next: rest, a good new year, the trip they keep talking about.
Writing holiday cards for work
A few things keep a work card from reading like a form letter:
- Thank them for something specific: a project, a referral, a year of orders.
- Leave out the sales pitch. No discount codes, no "let's connect in Q1".
- Sign it with a person's name, not only the company's.
- Send it before mid-December, when people start logging off.
- Not sure what someone celebrates? "Happy holidays" or "Season's greetings" is the safe pick.
How it works
- Pick a cardPilots, mermaids, rock stars, one very surprised cake. Every one shows a real example first.
- Add their photosOne clear face each, up to 5 people. A selfie is fine. No sign-up.
- See it free, then payOne picture of them in the card in about 10 seconds. Like it? Apple Pay or Google Pay, and four pictures arrive about 20 seconds later, the video in about 90.
What do you write in a happy holidays card?
Three short lines: the greeting, one line that's only about them, and a wish for the new year. "Happy holidays, Sam! Thanks for all the rides this fall. Here's to a calm new year." If you don't know them well, a thank-you works as the middle line.
When should you say Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas?
When you don't know whether someone celebrates Christmas, when the card goes to a whole office or a client list, or when the family you're writing to mixes traditions. "Happy holidays" covers Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa and New Year in two words. If you know they celebrate Christmas, either one is fine.
What is a good holiday message for employees?
Thank them for something real, tell them to rest, and keep it short: "Thank you for the work you put in this year. Please actually log off. See you in January." Sign it with your own name, and send it before people start their time off.
What should a business write in a holiday card to clients?
Thank them, wish them well and stop there: "Thank you for trusting us this year. Wishing you and your team a restful holiday season and a strong new year." Leave out offers and sales talk. The card that only says thank you is the one people remember.
What does Season's Greetings mean?
It's a wish for the whole holiday season, from late November to New Year's Day, without naming one holiday. It reads a little formal, which suits clients, neighbors you don't know well and cards that go to many people at once.
Can I put a happy holidays wish on a card with our photo?
Yes. Tap a wish, add a clear photo of each person, up to five, and pay. HiWith puts you in a snowy scene, like a snow globe or one sled with too many people on it, and adds your line. It's $4.99 for four pictures and a short video, ready about 20 seconds after you pay, and the link opens on any phone.
